An economic report suggests that a new 100,000 seater stadium for Manchester United would give a massive £7.3 billion ($10bn) boost to the UK economy.

The preliminary assessment has revealed that the project could provide a whopping £7.3bn boost to the UK economy every year, as claimed by the club. United are already working on a masterplan to redevelop the area around Old Trafford.

The new project will involve the creation of 92,000 job opportunities and 17,000 new homes. The new Trafford Park will see the club construct a world-class 100,00 seater stadium and several other mixed-used developments that will benefit the local community. It will attract visitors from Manchester, UK and across the world, the club says.
United's new partial-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is also the UK's richest man, has made the rebuilding of the club's iconic stadium his top priority ever since he bought a minority stake at the club.
On the field, Erik ten Hag's side are off to a disappointing start in the new 2024-25 campaign in the Premier League as they have managed to collect just seven points from their first five games. They will be next seen in action on Wednesday as they begin their Europa League journey against Twente.
